Black walnut (Juglans nigra) is prized for its rich chocolate-brown colour and tight, even grain. Each board is individually selected, shaped, sanded through five grits down to 320-mesh, then hand-finished with food-safe mineral oil and beeswax.
The round-head paddle design distributes chopping force evenly and the hole-handle keeps the board secure. Unlike bamboo or composite boards, walnut is gentle on knife edges while being dense enough to resist deep scoring.

Washing
Hand wash with warm soapy water. Never submerge or use a dishwasher — it will crack the wood.
Drying
Stand upright or dry flat immediately. Never leave wet on a flat surface — this causes warping.
Oiling
Apply food-grade mineral oil monthly, or when the wood looks dry. Rub in with a cloth, let sit overnight.
Storage
Keep away from direct heat sources and out of direct sunlight. Store in a dry, ventilated spot.
